2 Cheetahs Kill Impala Lamb Right Next to Road

This marvellous footage captured by 54-year-old, Stephan Greyvenstein, a videographer and marketer by trade, portrays all the emotions that play out before an enthralling kill.

He tells “Myself and my wife Karien were returning to Satara along the S100 when we were told by passers-by that there were cheetahs in the area. We then came upon the cheetah sighting and immediately noticed that they were stalking a herd of impala nearby.

One of the cheetahs dashed and grabbed a young impala but let it lose as if inviting the mom to come to the rescue so that they could indulge in a bigger meal… This idea didn’t seem to work so the cheetahs killed the young one instead of losing out on food altogether.

The speed of the kill was unbelievably fascinating. Fortunately, it was still light enough before we had to get back to camp that we could spend enough time sitting there and just enjoying every moment!

This was extremely exciting for the both of us this was the first live kill we had ever witnessed that we had caught from the stalking to the takedown. It was emotional as well especially from my wife’s side as this was just a young little buck. This was the first time in 25 years of going to the Kruger that we had ever had this experience so it was truly special for us.
